That’s what you can expect to see on Channel 7’s new dating show, The Proposal.
The new reality show appears to be like a whole season of Married At First Sight rolled into one hour, and without all the drama.
In each episode eight eligible singles (male or female depending on the gender of the suitor) will compete for the affection of one mystery suitor.
The singles will attempt to woo the mystery suitor (who they don’t get to see until the end of the episode) over several different rounds:
Round 1: First impressions round
Round 2: Beachwear round
Round 3: Answer the mystery suitor’s most pressing romantic and confronting questions
Round 4: Strive to receive a seal of approval from the mystery suitor’s most trusted family member
After each phase, the singles who fail to connect with the mystery suitor are whittled down, leading to a dramatic reveal where the two remaining singles finally meet the mystery suitor for the first time who presents their romantic proposal.
In a teaser for the soon to be released show, we meet Jess, a single mum with two daughters.
“You don’t think that you get to this point in your life and not have a partner,” Jess says in the trailer. “I may not have many material things to give, but I have a lot of love. I have a lot of love and I think that that’s enough.”
With her two daughters watching on in tears (happy tears, hopefully), the teaser suggests that Jess gets the proposal she’s always wanted. But will she say yes?
The Proposal is hosted by Luke Jacobz and is coming soon to Channel 7.
